On Sunday 27th September the Build it for the Kids Home built by Murphy Homes to help raise funds for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation was marketed by Natalie Tink and auctioned by Dan Sowden from Ray White Maroochydore.

We had outstanding interest in the home over the 6 weeks marketing program which concluded with 3 bidders competing for the home on Auction Day. Bidding on the day reached $630,000 with the South Australian buyers just in front of the two other local groups. After a few days of canvassing all conditional interest in the home, it was successfully sold to the South Australian buyers who are soon to move to the Coast.

All profits raised from the sale (over $160,000) will go towards keeping kids safe. Denise Morcombe said “Congratulations to the new owners! We couldn’t be happier and are overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone involved in this project, we can guarantee you that the money raised will go directly towards assisting young victims of crime.”

Bruce Morcombe said ”This project has been a win – win for all connected with the build. But the real winners are children. They will be safer and better equipped to stay that way from this day forward.”

Murphy Homes Director Brooke Bastien said “The Murphy Homes team are delighted with the result and our Build it for the Kids home being sold! We love building homes for local families, and knowing this project has raised much needed funds to protect our kids, makes it all the more special. Working with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and so many amazing supporters has been a pleasure. The community has come together to keep our kids safe, and now the home has been sold, we can see all their hard work realised!”

AVID Property Group General Manger Queensland Bruce Harper said it had been an incredible 12 months watching the home take shape.

“I know that everyone here at AVID couldn’t be prouder to be part of this very worthwhile cause – so many of us have children and to have the Morcombe’s legacy right here in the heart of Harmony means a lot to us,” Mr Harper said. Media Release

“By purchasing this home, the owners have helped support young people and children across the Sunshine Coast and Australia.”

The Foundation is extremely thankful to the 60 plus suppliers, tradespeople and supporters who contributed to the Build. Some even stepping up for the second Foundation project as they were also involved in the Daniel House Build.
