Custom Design Process
Custom designed building made easy
Our simple seven step process
Creating a beautiful new home that is custom designed to suit your unique style starts here. It’s all about collaboration and communication with our award winning team being there every step of the building process - ensuring transparency and the confidence that your new home is progressing on time and within budget.
STEP 1. Designing your home
Meet your Murphy Homes Building Designer on site to begin planning your new home. This first site meeting allows your Home Designer to get a feel for your block of land. It gives you the opportunity to start discussing your requirements and bouncing ideas around.
Our home designers know how to take advantage of any views, natural lighting and breezes to make the most of your block and they will also ensure your design allows for privacy.
STEP 2. Quote
Our team will prepare a quote for your build, based on the approved concept design. Some sites may require further information (e.g. contour plans) to establish a full quote.
STEP 3. Selection of colours, fixtures and fittings
A series of selection appointments will be organized for you. This is where you pick your colours, floor coverings, plumbing fixtures and cabinetry with our Murphy Homes’ Interior Design Consultant.
STEP 4. Contract finalised
As soon as all of your colours, fixtures and fittings have been selected - your contract can be finalised.
STEP 5. Building approval
Your plans are submitted to Council for final building approval.
STEP 6. Building and inspections
Once the building approval process is finalised, it’s time to commence building your home. On site progress inspections with your Customer Service Liaison will keep you informed at every stage of your build.
STEP 7. Time to move in
The wait is over. Your build is complete. Your brand new custom-designed home is now ready to move into.
